Brad M. Beasley

Leading Partner, CPA, CGMA


Brad Beasley earned his Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas in 2000. Brad worked in Internal Audit and SEC compliance while working in the gaming industry for Harrah’s Entertainment (now Caesars’ Entertainment). Brad has been with Beasley, Mitchell & Co. since 2004, and a partner since 2008. At Beasley, Mitchell & Co., Brad manages the Audit and Assurance practice and provides accounting and tax services to a broad range of clients with a concentration in commercial and residential construction, the transportation industry, and franchise operations. Brad has been active in several community and civic organizations as well as serving as Chairman of the Board of the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants, President of the Dona Ana Chapter of CPA’s, President of the Las Cruces Rio Grande Rotary Club and Treasurer of Rotary District 5520, Secretary of the Mesilla Valley Hospice Foundation, and the AICPA Council representative for New Mexico.


Christine Esquibel Wright

Partner, CPA


Christine provides leadership to the Tax and Business Consulting division, and leads the Retirement Plan department, and has 20+ years of experience in business, tax, retirement plans, litigation projects and has served numerous times as a court-appointed receiver, conservator and special master. Christine is a licensed CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), earned a Bachelor’s degree from New Mexico Highlands University and holds advanced certifications and training including the AICPA’s Certificate of Educational Achievement in Tax Planning and Advising for Closely Held Businesses, ASPPA’s Retirement Plan Fundamentals (RPF) Certification, and the Loyola IV: Receivership Law & Practice conference for Court Appointed Receivers. Christine’s professional memberships include the AICPA, the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA).

Christopher Salcido

Partner, CPA


Christopher Salcido has been with Beasley, Mitchell & Co. since 2008. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Christopher earned his Master and Bachelor of Accountancy from NMSU and was a member of Beta Alpha Psi. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, has served as president and treasurer of the Dona Ana Chapter of CPAs, served on the committee for NMSCPA Leadership Academy, a graduate of Emerging Leadership Academy, and treasurer and Vice President of Education of Gene's Gesters Toastmasters. Christopher provides individual and corporate tax preparation and tax consultation services.

Myrle Schwalm

Partner, CPA


H. Myrle Schwalm came to NMSU from his hometown of Belen, NM, in 1980.  1984 was a big year for him as he graduated from NMSU with a Bachelor of Accountancy, married, and passed the CPA exam. He started his public accounting career with Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young).  After three years with E&W, he returned to NMSU and earned his Master of Accountancy in 1988.  He then went to work with Coopers & Lybrand (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers).  He reached the level of Tax Manager with C&L before leaving to start his own practice in Las Cruces in 1990.  Since 1990, he has kept busy with his public accounting practice, served on several non-profit boards and church committees as well as helped coach his two daughters in T Ball, Soccer, and Golf.  Through the years, he has also taught accounting principles for the NMSU Accounting Department and the beginning accounting class for the HRTM School.  His wife, Jeanie, is an educational diagnostician at Las Cruces Public Schools.  His oldest daughter, Carissa, just graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in Denver, and his youngest daughter, Emily, earned her Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University, a Law Degree from the University of New Mexico, and is currently practicing Law in Las Cruces, NM. Myrle joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. as a partner in 2024.

F. Tony Morán

Partner, CPA


Francisco “Tony” Morán has been with Beasley, Mitchell & Co. since 2008. Francisco provides individual and corporate tax preparation services and is bilingual (Spanish and English). He is involved in the preparation of reviewed and compiled financial statements. Francisco has a Master of Accountancy with a Minor in Finance from NMSU and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Francisco is an alumnus of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) at NMSU. He has served as past-president of the Doña Ana Chapter of CPAs and as a board member of the NM Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jay Dunbar

Manager, CPA, CVA

Jay Dunbar, CPA, joined Beasley Mitchell & Company as a Business Valuation Specialist and Manager in 2024. Jay has a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Missouri in 1968 as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Texas-El Paso. He has extensive experience assisting privately held businesses in the areas of succession planning, merger and acquisition, and business valuations since 1978. He has valued business interests for buyers and sellers, divorce, estate planning, buy-sell agreements, damage calculations, and shareholder disputes and appeared as an expert witness in both state and federal courts. Jay has received the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). Jay was personally appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and served until May 2011.

Jeanette Wisner

Manager, CFE

Jeanette Wisner joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. in 2008. She has a Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University and has 20+ years of accounting experience. Jeanette provides client services in tax preparation, consulting, fraud examinations, and audit and assurance, as well as litigation support, including court-appointed receiverships, special master, and conservatorships. Jeanette is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). The CFE credential indicates expertise in all areas of fraud prevention and detection. She is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and an Affiliate Member of the New Mexico Society of CPA’s. She is Secretary of the El Paso Area ACFE Chapter and previously served a two-year term as an At-Large Board Member. Jeanette is also a member of the Dona Ana County Internal Audit Advisory Committee. She previously held several positions, including President, for the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) Las Cruces Chapter.

Scott K. Fowler

Manager, CPA

Scott began working in accounting in 1971 while pursuing his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at New Mexico State University. He obtained his CPA Certificate right after graduation in 1974 and became a partner at a CPA firm in Las Cruces. In 1989, he started his tax practice and eventually joined Beasley Mitchell & Company in January 2016. He has extensive experience in business consulting and specializes in Tax Planning and Advising for Individuals and Closely Held Businesses. Scott He has been active in the New Mexico Society of CPA’s, in local civic and charitable work, as well as the Las Cruces Home Builders Association. In 1988, he was designated as one of 100 Centennial Alumni from the College of Business Administration for the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the founding of New Mexico State University.

Andrew Claussen

Manager, CPA

Andrew Claussen joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. in 2009. Andrew has a Master of Accountancy from New Mexico State University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Andrew provides individual, corporate, and retirement plan tax preparation services, financial statement compilations and consulting services. Andrew has concentrations in retirement plans, and information technology. Andrew earned his CPA license in February 2012, and is an Eagle Scout.

James Weston Jensen

Manager, CPA

James Weston Jensen, CPA, Tax Manager, joined Beasley Mitchell & Company as a Tax Manager during the merger with Scwalm, Martos & Co. in 2023. Weston has a Bachelor of Accounting from Eastern New Mexico University and Master of Business Administration from New Mexico State University. He has extensive experience in business consulting and specializes in tax planning and advising for Individuals, corporations and closely held businesses. Weston has been active in the New Mexico Society of CPA’s, in local civic and charitable work.

Manuel R. Martos

Manager, CPA

Manuel R. Martos, CPA, Tax Manager, began working in accounting in 1986 after completing his Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Albuquerque. He obtained his CPA Certificate after graduation in 1986 and joined Beasley Mitchell & Company as a Tax Manager during the merger with Scwalm, Martos & Co. in 2023. He has extensive experience in business consulting and specializes in Tax Planning and Advising for Individuals, corporations, and closely held businesses. Manuel has been active in the New Mexico Society of CPAs in local civic and charitable work.

Hugo Terrazas

Manager, CPA

Hugo Terrazas, CPA, Tax Manager, joined Beasley Mitchell & Company as a Tax Manager during the merger with Scwalm, Martos & Co. in 2023. Hugo has a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance and a Masters in Accounting from New Mexico State University (NMSU) in 2017. He has extensive experience in business consulting and specializes in tax planning and advising for Individuals, corporations, and closely held businesses.

Alejandra Rosales

Manager, CPA

Alejandra joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co as a Staff Accountant in January of 2017. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master’s of Accountancy from New Mexico State University and has recently obtained her CPA license. Prior to joining Beasley, Mitchell, and Co., Alejandra was working in El Paso providing tax preparation, financial statement, and bookkeeping services. She also has experience in the areas of international tax and other cross-border accounting services. In her spare time, she stays active and enjoys playing in the Mesilla Valley Soccer League.

Laura Rucker

Manager

Laura got her CPA certificate in 2003 after graduating summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She moved to the El Paso, Texas area with her husband and 2 sons in 2008, and shortly thereafter began working for Nussbaum, Torres & Company (which later became Nussbaum, Torres & Rucker). In January 2025, NTR became a part of Beasley, Mitchell & Company, and Laura joined the BMC team. She has over 20 years of experience in accounting and tax services, and a professional background that includes extensive work in a broad range of areas for both individuals and businesses, from tax preparation and consulting to financial statements to bookkeeping and payroll services. While she continues to work in many areas, her concentration is business taxation with a focus on large entity groups, many in real estate and lending. She also has a passion for helping small businesses learn to navigate their tax and accounting needs and options. In her free time, Laura enjoys reading books and hanging out with her family and pets on their small family farm.

Anthony Bello

Specialist

Tony Bello was born and raised in Lakewood, Colorado, and moved to Las Cruces in 2015 to attend New Mexico State University on a full-ride football scholarship. He was a member of the 2017 team that won the Arizona Bowl. Tony graduated in 2020 with Bachelor’s Degrees in general business, marketing, and accounting. Tony enjoys attending NMSU sporting events and playing with his dogs in his free time. Tony joined BMC as a Staff Accountant I in January of 2021.

Martha Garcia-Knott

Specialist

Martha joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. in 2021. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Finance specialization from the University of Texas at El Paso. She is currently finishing her Master’s in Accountancy from Grand Canyon University. Martha is an Enrolled Agent and brings 23 years of tax and audit representation experience. She is a certified tax instructor, a member of AICPA, Texas Society of CPAs, and the National Association of Tax Professionals. Martha is a proud member and diplomat of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and volunteers in their community events.

Lourdes Cevallos

Specialist

Lourdes Cevallos has over 22 years of experience in accounting and taxation services. She has been with Beasley, Mitchell & Co. for 19 years. She obtained her Bachelor of Accountancy with a Minor in Finance from New Mexico State University in 2000. Her professional background includes accounting and taxation services for individuals and all types of business and multi-state entities, with a concentration on taxation for not-for-profit organizations. Lourdes is fluent in English and Spanish and loves to offer professional services to our Spanish speaking clients. She participates and volunteers throughout different organizations in our community. A native of Lima, Peru, she is the proud mother of five children, three of them Peruvian-born who served in the US Army and the US Marines. She is the former President of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) Las Cruces chapter and currently serves as President of the Peruvian Association in El Paso Texas (APEP).

Alfredo Mijares

Specialist

Alfredo Mijares joined Beasley Mitchell & Co. as an intern in February of 2019 and was hired as a Staff Accountant in November of 2020. He graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Accountancy in December 2015 and graduated with his Master of Accountancy in May 2017. Before joining Beasley Mitchell & Co. as a Staff Accountant, he worked at New Mexico State University as an Internal Auditor. At New Mexico State University, he participated in the 2019 NCAA Football Attendance Verification, Student Success Enrollment follow-up, and helped the IT Compliance Officer with user access verifications.

Brianna Smith

Senior

Brianna Reynaud joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. as an intern in February of 2021 and was hired as a staff accountant in April of 2022. She graduated with highest honors from New Mexico State University in December 2021 with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree. Brianna is currently working towards earning her Master of Accountancy degree from NMSU and pursuing her CPA license. Brianna was born and raised in Las Cruces and enjoys hiking and mountain biking in her free time.

Francesca Sanchez

Senior

Francesca Sanchez joined Beasley, Mitchell, & Co. as an intern in December of 2018 and was hired as a staff accountant in January of 2021. She provides tax preparation, financial statement preparation, and bookkeeping services. She graduated from NMSU in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business Administration Finance. Francesca is a native of northern New Mexico and enjoys spending time with her family there.

Michael Cooper

Senior

Michael Cooper joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. as an intern in January of 2016, and was hired as a Staff Accountant in January of 2018. He earned his Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University in 2017. He provides tax preparation, financial statement preparation, and bookkeeping services.

Joseph Selders

Supervisor

Out of high school Joseph spent four years in the Army as a 73D (Accounting Specialist). Joseph graduated from Western Illinois University in 2001 earning a Bachelor of Accountancy with a Minor in Finance. He has over 20 years of experience in accounting and tax services. In 2019 he made the decision to make tax his main focus. Joseph received his Enrolled Agent (EA) designation from the IRS in December of 2019. Joseph has experience with bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services. Tax experience includes both business and individual returns, multi-state returns, individual with foreign income, and residing abroad, non-profits, and trusts.

Miguel Ruiz

Supervisor

Miguel Ruiz joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. as an intern in January of 2013, and was hired as a Staff Accountant in May of 2014. He has earned two degrees from New Mexico State University; a Bachelor of Accountancy in 2013, and a Bachelor of Finance in 2014. Miguel provides individual, partnership, non-profit and corporate tax preparation services as well as financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services. He has played various positions for both the Men’s and Co-Ed leagues’ slow-pitch softball teams since 2007.

Itzel Saenz

Accountant I

Itzel Saenz, Accounting Assistant, joined Beasley Mitchell & Company as a Client Accounting Services member in 2023. Itzel is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Minor in Marketing in December 2023, and is currently working towards her Master’s degree. Itzel is part of our tax and consulting department.

Zach Lilley

Accountant I

Zach Lilley, Staff Accountant I, joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co., as Staff Accountant assisting in the tax department in January 2022. Zach is a graduate of New Mexico State University earning a bachelor’s degree with a double Accounting in May 2023, and is currently working towards his Master’s degree. Zach provides individual and corporate tax preparation services as well as financial statement compilations. Zach enjoys spending time at in the gym and participating in martial arts training.

Yusell Herrera

Accountant I

Yusell Herrera joined Beasley Mitchell & Co. as an intern in February of 2022 and was promoted to Client Accounting Assistant in December 2022. He recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Minor in Finance from The University of Texas at El Paso. Yusell is continuing his education with a Master’s in Accountancy from UTEP and plans to study for his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification. On his spare time, Yusell enjoys spending time with his family.

Lusiano Ibanez

Lusiano Ibanez, Staff Accountant I, joined Beasley Mitchell & Company as a Client Accounting Services member in 2024. He has a Bachelor’s of Accounting and a Minor in Marketing from New Mexico State University (NMSU), where he was a Crimson Scholar. Lusiano is part of our tax and consulting department. He provides individual and corporate tax preparation services as well as financial statement compilations. Lusiano enjoys spending time outdoors and on the basketball court.

Aaliyah Galaviz

Accountant I

Aaliyah Galaviz, Tax Accountant, joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. in 2024. Aaliyah has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy with a Minor in Human Resources from the University of Texas-El Paso (UTEP). Aaliyah is part of our tax and consulting department. Aaliyah provides individual and corporate tax preparation services, financial statement compilations, and consulting services. While at UTEP, Aaliyah served as Treasurer for Girls Who Code, Women in Business Association, and Association of Latino Professionals for America. 

Sofia Rodriquez Villavicencio

Accountant 1

Sofia Rodriquez Villavicencio, Accountant I, joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. in 2024 as an intern in our Las Cruces office. Sofia will graduate with a Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Accountancy from New Mexico State University (NMSU). Sofia is part of our tax and consulting department and will serve individual and corporate tax preparation services. Sofia is a NMSU Crimson Scholas and recipient of many scholarship. She is planning on taking the CPA exam in the near future.

Axel Hernandez

Accounting Assistant

Axel Hernandez, Accounting Assistant, joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. in May 2023. Axel has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from the University of Texas-El Paso (UTEP). Axel is part of our tax and consulting department. Aaliyah provides individual and corporate tax preparation services, financial statement compilations, and consulting services. Axel enjoys spending time in the swimming at his local gym.

Trinity Perez

Accounting Assistant


Trinity Perez Martinez, Accounting Assistant, joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. in 2024 as an intern in our El Paso office. Trinity graduated with highest honors with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and is currently pursuing a Master of Accountancy at The University of Texas at El Paso. Trinity plans to sit for the CPA exam in the near future. Trinity is part of our Tax Preparation & Consulting department. She serves as Treasurer of Beta Alpha Psi at UTEP and is a member of TXCPA, AICPA, and Beta Gamma Sigma.

Jake Byrd

Specialist


Jake was born and raised in the Mesilla Valley and graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in December of 2018. Although he was hired as a Staff 1 in May of 2019, Jake started working for the firm in September of 2013 during his senior year of high school as an administrative specialist. He specializes in the preparation of tax returns, financial statements, and provides bookkeeping services.

Valerie Romero

Accountant I


Valerie Romero, Accountant I, joined Beasley, Mitchell & Co. in 2023 as an intern and transitioned to a full-time position in January 2025. Valerie graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from New Mexico State University in December 2023 and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Accounting, which she will complete in May 2025. She is part of our tax preparation & consulting department and is gaining hands-on experience to further develop her skills. Valerie plans to take the CPA exam in the near future.
